The NBTC Judging List is in 5 parts: A1, A2, A3, B & C. The NBTC also distinguishes between Breed & Non Breed Specialist.

The minimum qualifications for each part is as detailed below, in addition there is an agreement to write & submit a critique to the Canine Press & if requested, also to the club.

For persons who have previously been approved by The Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed and have completed their first appointment and have the support of the club.

For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with KC requirements and accepted by the KC for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of the club.

  1. To have a minimum of 7 years experience judging the breed and have the support of the club.
  2. To have judged at 1 Breed Club show.
  3. To have judged the breed at 6 open shows or championship shows without CC’s.
  4. To have judged a minimum of 50 dogs.
  5. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on KC Regulations and Judging Procedures. (KC policy)
  6. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement. (KC policy)
    • To have attended a Confirmation and Movement “Hands-on Assessment” conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment. (KC Policy)
  7. To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practise and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. (KC Policy)
  8. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (Save in exceptional circumstances).
  9. To have stewarded over a minimum of 12 days at shows.
  10. To have been actively involved in breeding/exhibiting the breed for a minimum of 10 years.
  1. To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in any breed (to include 5 years judging Bedlington Terriers) and have the support of the club.
  2. To have judged at 1 Breed Club show.
  3. To have judged the breed at 5 opens shows and 1 championship show without CC’s.
  4. To have judged 50 dogs in this breed.
  5. To have awarded CC’s in at least one other breed.
  6. To have attended at least 1 Breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC code of best practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.
  7. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their 1st entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances).
  1. To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting in this breed and have the support of the club.
  2. To have judged 24 dogs of this breed.
  3. To have attended at least one Breed specific judging seminar and passed an assessment where applicable.
  1. To have a minimum of 5 years judging experience in any one breed, three years in this breed and have the support of the club.
  2. To have judged 24 dogs of this breed.

For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of the club. Listings would normally include persons who have judged the breed at limited and open shows but do not yet qualify for the B list.
